This exhibition is held as part of Professor Yuko Hasegawa’s class at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Global Arts, Department of Arts Studies and Curatorial Practices (GA), which was established in 2016. In the project, which will be the fifth time this year, students at GA have learned curation on a practical level and organized an exhibition by inviting many wonderful artists not only from Japan but also from abroad. For this year's project, under the current situation in which people around the world are restricted in their movements, we have invited artists and artworks, which deal with various issues in their respective locations, from Japan and other countries. This time, we will hold a hybrid exhibition using the actual exhibition space and a virtual exhibition space created by photographing it. The exhibition will be co-curated by students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including the Philippines, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, and will explore ways of confronting the memories and stories of places that we do not know.
